Louis Mitchell was a member of Lesbians and Gays of African Decent for Democratic Action in 1980's San Fransisco. He speaks about the struggle of African American gay men to find support and acceptance in both the African American community and the gay community, connecting the civil rights struggle of the 1960's to today's struggle for trans recognition with mainstream LGBT organizations.
